Before individual man can achieve initiation, he must be fully self-conscious, mystically oriented and occultly developed. He must be aware of himself as he essentially is—a soul involved in form which is itself developed and unfolded through soul activity; he must be a developed mystic, capable of pure vision, motivated by spiritual intent and able to perceive the uses of inherent sensitivity; he must also be a trained occultist, mentally polarised and profoundly aware of the realities, forces and energies of existence and, therefore, free from the ordinary glamours and illusions which colour the reactions and life of the average man. He is then governed by the physical Sun, motivated by the energies pouring from “the heart of the Sun” (via Neptune) and bringing about at-one-ment through the forces which are reaching him (via Uranus).

“More radiant than the sun, purer than the snow, subtler than the ether is the Self, The Spirit within me. I am that Self. That Self am I.”

“Thou God seest me.”

“There is a peace that passeth understanding, it abides in the hearts of those who live in the Eternal. There is a power that maketh all things new; it lives and moves in those who know the Self as one.”

“Thou God seest me.
This God is the divine in me, the indwelling Christ, the Soul.
For long ages this soul has perceived and observed me.
Now for the first time I am in a position to see God.
Up till now, I have been negative to this divine Reality.
The positive relation is becoming possible.
But–this seems to involve the idea of duality.
But I and God are one.
I am God and have been all the time.
Therefore I have been seen by my Self.
I am that Self, That Self am I.

Toldot: Verse 40

At that time, the Righteous will attain complete knowledge, for as Rabbi Yosi said, When “Hashem rejoices in His works,” then the Righteous are destined to grasp the Holy One, blessed be He, in their hearts. And wisdom will abound in their hearts, as if they are seeing Him with their eyes. This is the meaning of the verse: “And it shall be said on that day, this is our Elohim” (Yeshayah 25:9). And for their existence together, the soul shall delight in the body more than anything, and that they shall have knowledge and perception of their Master, and shall have the enjoyment of the splendor of the Shechinah. This is the goodness hidden for the Righteous in the future to come. Thus, “And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son,” refers to the generations of gladness and laughter that will exist at that time. Abraham’s son is the soul worthy of it and is perfect in its ascent; “Abraham begot Isaac,” means that the soul sires joy and laughter in the world.

Toldot: Verse 42

Rabbi Yehuda said that the feast of the Righteous in the future is to partake of His joy, according to the verse: “The humble shall hear of it, and be glad” (Tehilim 34:3). Rav Huna said that it is understood from the verse: “But let all those that put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever shout for joy” (Tehilim 5:12). Rabbi Yitzchak said, Both will occur in the future. We were taught by Rabbi Yosi that cellared wine with its grapes, from the six days of Creation, contains the ancient matters that were not revealed to man from the day the world was created. These are destined to be revealed to the Righteous in the future; this is assuredly their food and drink.

Toldot: Verse 43

In the name of Rabbi Shalom, Rabbi Yehuda said that if that is true, what about the Leviathan and the bull, as it is written, “Surely the mountains bring him forth food” (Iyov 40:20). Rabbi Yosi said that it is also written, “On that day, Hashem with His sore and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the flying serpent, and the Leviathan that crooked serpent; and He will slay the crocodile that is in the sea” (Yeshayah 27:1). This was said thrice, to hint at the kingdom. Rabbi Tanchum added that there is nothing to reveal in addition to what the wise men said. This is assuredly so.

“Constantly think of the Universe as one living creature, embracing one being and one soul; how all is absorbed into the one consciousness of this living creature; how it compasses all things with a single purpose, and how all things work together to cause all that comes to pass, and their wonderful web and texture.”

Marcus Aurelius – Meditations Book IV 40

“He who sees what is now has seen all things, whatsoever came to pass from everlasting and whatsoever shall be unto unlimited time. For all things are of one kin and of one kind.

“Meditate often upon the bond of all in the Universe and their mutual relationship. For all things are in a way woven together and all are because of this dear to one another; for these follow in order one upon another because of the stress-movement and common spirit and the unification of matter.

“Fit yourself into accord with the things in which your portion has been cast, and love the men among whom your lot has fallen, but love them truly.”

Marcus Aurelius – Meditations Book VI 37 – 39

You are where your attention takes you. In fact, you are your attention. If your attention is fragmented, you are fragmented. When your attention is in the past, you are in the past. When your attention is in the present moment you are in the Presence of God and God is present in you. Let yourself die to all that does not really exist and discover what does. Let go of all you think you know. Be honest; all you know is of the past. It does not exist in the eyes of God. In the eyes of God, your knowledge is but dust in the eye of a child, blinding you to the splendor of Creation.
